About Our Leadership

Pastor Ron Brav
Pastor Ron is the Senior Pastor of Calvary Chapel Hilo. Pastor Ron Brav was saved in June 1992 while attending Calvary Chapel San Bernardino, California. In 1995 he felt called to come to Hawaii.


Calvary Chapel Hilo formed from a home Bible study in 1998.


God eventually grew that study into Calvary Chapel Hilo.


In December 1998 Pastor Ron was ordained by Calvary Chapel Mililani.


Pastor Ron is an expository Bible teacher passionate about teaching God's Word book by book, verse by verse through the entire Bible, with historical, grammatical and cultural context.


Pastor Nate Hadley
Nate Hadley is the Assistant Pastor at Calvary Chapel Hilo. Before moving to serve in Hilo, he served as a Teaching Pastor in California at Calvary Chapel Capitola for seven years. Nate teaches verse by verse through the Old Testament on Thursday nights, and has a heart to see people transformed by the Word of the God. He is passionate about fulfilling the calling of 1Corinthians 15:58, Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord, as the Day of the Lord approaches. Nate also longs to see the local church fulfill its calling to continue steadfastly in the Word of God and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. (Acts 2:42)


Pastor Nate is married to his wife Lani and they have two young children.

Desire and Qualifications for Leadership: 

1 Timothy 3 & Titus 1:5-9

A godly leader or servant is characterized by qualities such as humility, integrity, wisdom, compassion, and a strong commitment to following God's will. In the Bible, we see examples of godly leaders like King David, who was described as a man after God's own heart (1 Samuel 13:14). Another example is Moses, who demonstrated humility and faithfulness in leading the Israelites out of Egypt (Numbers 12:3). Additionally, Jesus Christ is the ultimate example of a godly leader, displaying love, servant leadership, and obedience to God the Father throughout His ministry on earth. As believers, we are called to emulate these qualities in our own leadership roles, seeking to honor God and serve others with humility and integrity.
